14th Capability Training

Two months after the well-attended training south of the country in Puerto Princesa, ALCUCOA headed north to the historic city of Vigan for its 14th Capability Training. It was held on May 30-June 1, 2017 at the rustic Hotel Salcedo de Vigan right at the heart of Vigan’s Heritage Village. Premised on the theme "Leading Organizational Change", the training highlighted techniques and organizational requirements that propelled change initiatives in institutions and provided the participants with a more informed understanding of the complexities involved in the change process.
Dr. Raymundo P. Arcega started the sessions with a direction setting. The first part of the actual training was handled by Dr. Rene M. Colocar, City Administrator of the City College of Calapan and ALCUCOA Auditor who talked on "Competencies of an Effective Organization Development Practitioner", and "Stakeholder-friendly Evaluation Model for Organizational Change." The remaining sessions were carried by Prof. Ernesto C. Boydon, Director of Computer Science Program at the Asia Pacific College (APC) who tackled on the following: "Understanding Change and the Need to Manage it," "Assuming Leadership Role in Organizational Change," "The Critical Role of Communication (How to Speak so People will Listen)," and " Crafting a Change Management Plan. A workshop on change scenario was also conducted during the third day and concluded with Prof. Boydon’s presentation on "Ang Bagong Pinoy."
