4th Accreditors’ Certification Training

Last November 17-18, 2017 the 4th ACCREDITORS’ CERTIFICATION TRAINING was held at the HPSB 701 of the University of Makati. The theme of this training delved into “Defining Quality Higher Education through Accreditation.” The training focused on capacitating the potential accreditors by giving them the basic and advance knowledge in conducting accreditation visits in the coming months. The training commenced with the sharing of the knowledge and expertise of our very own seasoned Board Member, Dr. Raymundo P. Arcega, the President and Executive Director of ALCUCOA (and Executive Vice President of the University of Makati). He shared the experience of the ALCUCOA in “Revolutionizing Philippine Higher Education through Quality Assurance.” Likewise, he elaborated on the importance of “Nurturing Excellence and Sustaining Transformation” in the long run. Enriching the discussions, Dr. Elizabeth A. Montero, the Vice-President of ALCUCOA (President of Urdaneta College), provided a useful approach in “Understanding Quality Assurance in the Context of ALCUCOA Perspectives and Practices (Areas 1 – 10).”Moreover, Dr. Arcega proceeded the next day by “Defining Character, Competence and Integrity of Accreditors” which is one of the prerequisites for being certified. As part of the second day activities, participants were asked to do participate in a writeshop and simulation which was conducted by Dr. Rene Colocar, the ALCUCOA Auditor (President, City College of Calapan). The final activity focused on the “Presentation of Outputs and Critiquing” which was facilitated by Dr. Imelda Soriano.
